Your room is ready, your teams’ special accommodation requests were already met without having to ask again, and everyone is arriving just as planned. You have time and space that night to focus on your presentation tomorrow rather than being worried about late arrivals or unpredicted contingencies. Everything goes smoothly and all throughout the event, employees keep coming to tell you how excellent this is, and how much they are loving this new version of company get-togethers; you notice how truly genuine these statements are. When you go home, you are actually sad to leave. When you get to the office on Monday, you already have people asking when you can all do it again, and you honestly are wondering the same thing.

Stepping out of the office is supposed to create room for elevated thinking and unexpected insights.
